Skyla Hale is a Pharmacy Technician student who came to NorQuest to advance her career. She currently works as a Pharmacy Assistant while also growing her small business.

In August 2021, Skyla launched her handmade business, Made for Brunch. During COVID, she was working on the frontlines and longed for a creative outlet – one where her happy and bubbly personality could shine through. As a self-taught polymer clay artist from Edmonton, Skyla wanted to put her own unique spin on statement jewelry. So, she created bright and vibrant pieces for the perfect occasion – brunch!

“There truly is nothing better than getting all dolled up to go for brunch with your gal pals and taking the cutest photos of each other from across the table that has the most unreasonably overpriced waffles,” Skyla says about what inspired her collections.

But brunch isn’t the only thing that inspires her jewelry lines. She also pulls inspiration from her Indigenous background, friends, and her cat, Mocha, who according to Skyla is a “cute, spunky, growling machine.”

When asked what makes her pieces unique and different, Skyla says, “Made For Brunch earrings are made out of a polymer clay that when baked in the oven, is super flexible and durable. All my pieces are slow-made in small batches. Every pair of earrings I make is unique because they are never completely identical to each other. That means, whatever pair of earrings you choose, it truly is one of a kind.”
