Breanne Kuffner, Owner of The Chronic Closet

In 2017, I was diagnosed with Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome (POTS) and Hypermobile Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (hEDS) in 2023. Each time I went to the hospital for treatment, I would be freezing cold! I wanted a way to stay warm but still have medical professionals able to treat me.

This is what inspired me to create the IV sweater.

When I continued to visit the hospital with my new sweater design, many patients and medical professionals started asking me about it and where they could purchase their own.

That is how The Chronic Closet was born! Designed to make going through tough times just a little bit easier, The Chronic Closet helps improve the lives of people experiencing a chronic condition.

I also created the Central Line—another sweater adapted to accommodate “frequent flyers” to the hospital. This sweater allows access for all medical needs.

Through my journey of creating these products, I discovered my love for medicine and helping people. And it’s one of the main reasons why I joined NorQuest College in 2023. I am excited to start the Practical Nurse diploma this fall and further my education to help those in need by becoming a nurse.

I still have a long road ahead, but I’m excited to see where it takes me!
